Job summary

Westminster Surgery Center is seeking a motivated PRN Registered Nurse First Assistant to join our team. The RNFA will support surgeons in general and specialized procedures and ensure safe perioperative care for all patients.

The ideal candidate holds an RN degree, CNOR certification, and current RN licensure with 2+ years RNFA experience, preferably in ambulatory surgery. ACLS/BLS are required, with scrubbing and circulating roles expected.

Qualifications

• : Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and RNFA program.
• : CNOR certification required.
• : BLS and ACLS certifications.
• : Current RN licensure in state of employment.
• : Minimum of 2 years’ RNFA experience.
• : Ambulatory surgery experience strongly preferred.
• : Preoperative training and OR experience required.
• : Ability to perform scrub and circulating nurse roles.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon in general and specialized surgeries.
• Prepare patients for surgery.
• Provide patient care and support.
• Administer medications.
• Perform procedures such as hemostasis, suturing, draping, and tissue handling.
• Prepare supplies and position patient.
• Monitor vital signs and heart rate.
• Educate patient and family on operation and aftercare.
• Perform postoperative assessments and monitor for pain or complications.
• Review patient history and health assessments.
• Communicate patient health status to family.
• Monitor surgical site for healing or infection.
• Participate in research and CPR or emergency measures if required.
