Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital in Beachwood, OH is seeking a PRN RN to join an experienced emergency department team. You will provide direct nursing care, implement and monitor care plans, coordinate multidisciplinary care, and communicate patient conditions to families and providers.

This role requires RN licensure, BLS, ACLS/PALS within one year, and a track record in fast-paced environments. A BSN is preferred and trauma/ENPC training may be considered.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN Program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• ACLS and PALS certifications within one year of hire.
• TNCC or ENPC training within two years of ED start.
• External candidates: two years of related nursing experience.
• Internal candidates with limited experience may be considered with approval.

South Pointe Hospital’s 22-bed Emergency Department provides 24/7 emergency services, ranging from minor injuries to critical and resuscitative care, to more than 35,000 patients of all ages each year. A PRN caregiver in this position works variable days/nights from 7:00AM – 7:30PM or 7:00PM – 7:30AM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN Program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within one year of hire
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon hire or within 24 months of beginning work in the Emergency Department
• External candidates: two years of recent related nursing experience
• Internal candidates with less than two years of experience, but are post-orientation/90-day probationary period, may be considered with CNO level review and approval
• Licensed military RN experience will be considered

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $43.00
Maximum hourly: $43.00
