Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Florida is seeking a Registered Nurse to float among West Palm Beach, Wellington and Palm Beach Gardens on an as-needed basis to cover call outs and PTO/FMLA coverage. You will work in Gynecology, Colorectal, Pulmonary and MRI with a focus on exceptional patient care.

The role involves providing professional nursing care in ambulatory settings, conducting assessments, triage and care planning, plus collaboration with care coordinators.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• One year of recent RN experience.
• LPN/MA/other unlicensed clinical experience considered substitution if transferring within Cleveland Clinic ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities

The Cleveland Clinic Florida team is looking to add an RN to the team who will float between West Palm Beach, Wellington and Palm Beach Gardens on an as-needed basis to cover any call outs and provide PTO and FMLA coverage. Some of the specialties you will work in include Gynecology, Colorectal, Pulmonary and MRI. In this role, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey. Your efforts will help improve the patient experience as well as provide support to the provider team from start to finish. Here, you can learn how to do procedures through hands-on experiences, take part in continuous training and potentially transition into a clinical role.

A PRN caregiver in this position must have the availability to work Monday-Friday from 8:00AM - 5:00PM, with flexibility on start and end times. Working 48 hours per 6-week period and a minimum of one day per week will be required.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
• Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage and establish care plans.
• Collaborate with care coordinators to ensure smooth and effective transitions of care.
• Administer medications and treatments.
• Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
• Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
• Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures and specialized patient care equipment.
• Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families.
• Cover other nursing roles within the department.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• One year of recent experience as an RN
• Will consider LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience in substitution of RN experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• RN experience in an outpatient setting
• Urgent Care experience

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
• May require some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
• Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
• Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
