Canterbury Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide skilled assessments, treatments, and education for residents with complex pulmonary needs. This PRN role supports a 190-bed facility with a dedicated interdisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates hold an RRT credential, current state licensure, and experience with ventilator management and tracheostomy care. Daily pay options may be available in a caring, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care required.
• Current state licensure required.
• Minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management in a skilled nursing facility, LTACH, or hospital setting required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage residents, families, and clinical teams.

Responsabilités

• Perform comprehensive chest assessments and respiratory examinations for a diverse resident population.
• Consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop, evaluate, and modify individualized treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic testing, including lung capacity measurements and evaluation of blood gas levels.
• Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
• Manage and monitor ventilator-dependent residents, including initiation of ventilator support when necessary.
• Conduct regular monitoring of residents’ respiratory status and ensure proper functioning of respiratory equipment.
• Educate residents and families on respiratory treatments, equipment use, and medication administration.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, assessments, and resident progress in accordance with clinical standards.
