Job summary

Canterbury Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center seeks a Respiratory Therapist for a PRN role in Virginia. The RT provides skilled assessment, treatment, and education for residents with complex pulmonary needs across the care continuum.

Requirements include an NBRC-registered RRT, active state licensure, and preferred 3+ years of experience, especially with tracheostomy and ventilator management in skilled nursing, LTACH, or hospital settings. Daily Pay is available.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC.
• Current state licensure required.
• Minimum of 3 years respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• Tracheostomy care and ventilator management in SNF/LTACH or hospital settings required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive chest assessments and respiratory examinations.
• Consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team to develop, evaluate, and modify treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic testing, including lung capacity measurements and ABG evaluation.
• Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
• Manage ventilator-dependent residents, including initiation of ventilator support when necessary.
• Conduct regular monitoring of residents’ respiratory status and ensure proper functioning of respiratory equipment.
• Educate residents and families on respiratory treatments, equipment use, and medication administration.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, assessments, and resident progress in accordance with clinical standards.
