Job summary

Select Medical's DeSoto hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) for per diem/PRN days. The RT will evaluate patients, provide respiratory care, manage endotracheal tubes, and contribute to ongoing quality improvement. You will join a team dedicated to compassionate, expert post-ICU care.

Candidates must hold NBRC CRT or RRT credentials, current state licensure, and BLS; ACLS is required on hire. Prior related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active NBRC CRT or RRT credential.
• Current state Respiratory licensure.
• BLS certification by start date.
• ACLS certification required on hire.
• Preferred 1 year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating patients and recommending an appropriate treatment plan.
• Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Performing insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement.
• Teaching and counseling patients/families.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

NBRC CRT or RRT credential

Current state licensure

ACLS certification

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
