Job summary

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton seeks an experienced registered nurse to provide assessment and primary care in our ambulatory withdrawal management unit in Burlington, NJ. You will monitor withdrawal signs, coordinate medical interventions with the treating physician, and dispense medications as ordered while supporting the stabilization process.

You will work within an interdisciplinary team, perform intake assessments, and provide psycho-educational support.

Responsibilities

• Provides assessment and primary nursing services in ambulatory withdrawal management.

• Dispenses medications per physician orders and documents responses.
• Provides psycho-educational support through stabilization.
• Completes nursing intake assessments and monitors vital signs.
• Coordinates lab specimen processing and review of findings.
• Functions as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
• Provides after-hour on-call coverage to consumers and families on a rotational basis.
• Cross-trains for multiple RN needs.
• Maintains department compliance and coordinates referrals to community health partners.

JOB SUMMARY: Provides assessment and primary nursing services to consumers in the ambulatory withdrawal management unit. Monitors consumer for signs and symptoms of withdrawal and coordinates medical intervention in conjunction with the program Physician.

Dispenses medications per Physicians orders. Provides psycho-educational services and support throughout the consumers' stabilization process.

Essential Functions

• Completes nursing assessment as component of intake evaluation.
• Monitors and tracks consumers' vital signs and indicators of withdrawal.
• Education for consumers on plan of care
• Coordinates processing of laboratory specimens and review of findings.
• Implements medical interventions as prescribed by the physician.
• Dispenses medications as prescribed and monitors/documents consumer response to these pharmacological interventions.
• Functions as member of interdisciplinary team.
• Provides after-hour emergency on call telephone coverage to consumers and their families on a rotational basis/and as appropriate.
• Cross training for multiple program RN needs.
