Job summary

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the ambulatory withdrawal management unit. You will provide assessment, monitor withdrawal signs, dispense medications per physician orders, and coordinate care with the Medical Director.

Requires NJ RN license with at least one year of experience in a substance abuse setting; Spanish fluency preferred. This is a full-time/part-time position with on-site scheduling and competitive hourly pay up to $50.

Qualifications

• RN license in New Jersey and at least 1 year of experience in a substance abuse facility.
• Spanish fluency preferred for communication with clients.
• Knowledge of withdrawal management and medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing assessment as part of intake evaluation.
• Monitors vital signs and withdrawal indicators.
• Educates consumers on plan of care.
• Coordinates laboratory specimen processing and result review.
• Implements medical interventions as prescribed by the physician.
• Dispenses medications and documents responses to treatments.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team.
• Provides after-hours emergency on-call coverage as needed.
• Cross-training for multiple RN needs.

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides assessment and primary nursing services to consumers in the ambulatory withdrawal management unit. Monitors consumer for signs and symptoms of withdrawal and coordinates medical intervention in conjunction with the program Physician.

Dispenses medications per Physicians orders. Provides psycho-educational services and support throughout the consumers’ stabilization process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Completes nursing assessment as component of intake evaluation.
• Monitors and tracks consumers’ vital signs and indicators of withdrawal.
• Education for consumers on plan of care
• Coordinates processing of laboratory specimens and review of findings.
• Implements medical interventions as prescribed by the physician.
• Dispenses medications as prescribed and monitors/documents consumer response to these pharmacological interventions.
• Functions as member of interdisciplinary team.
• Provides after-hour emergency on call telephone coverage to consumers and their families on a rotational basis/and as appropriate.
• Cross training for multiple program RN needs.

OTHER DUTIES:

• Maintains department compliance standards
• Provides and coordinates consumer referrals to community health partners

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES ( Competencies):

Spanish Fluency preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

RN licensed to practices in the State of New Jersey with at least one year of experience working in a substance abuse facility
