Job summary

Elior North America is seeking a PRN Registered Dietitian to support the healthcare and food service team at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. The role focuses on assessing nutritional needs, initiating interventions, and enhancing quality of life for patients/residents.

Typical schedule is 8-16 hours per week. Requirements include a nutrition degree (bachelor’s and preferably master’s), passing the CDR exam or eligibility, ongoing CE credits, state licensure, and ability to educate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition (prior to 2024) or related field.
• Master’s degree in Nutrition or related field.
• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets AND eligibility.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education every five years per CDR.
• Licensed or certified per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards for assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others about nutrition and dietetics.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional expertise to the healthcare team and educate patients, residents, staff, or consultants.
• Follow the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with other departments to set up procedures and policies related to dining service and nutrition.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement programs.
