Applies the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) using anthropometric measures, biochemical/medical data, nutrition-focused physical exam findings, and comparative standards to identify and treat nutrition-related problems. Implements appropriate nutrition interventions to correct nutrition-related problems and monitors and evaluates outcomes. Ensures compliance with all regulations, policies, and laws. Practice is within scope of practice and consistent with the Code of Ethics for the Nutrition and Dietetics Profession of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Attends multi-campus Registered Dietitian Leader meetings, interdepartmental committees, and maintains regulatory readiness within assigned areas. Assists with the compilation and reporting of the department’s clinical key performance indicators to the department manager. Other duties as assigned. Anticipates staffing needs, creates work schedules, and assists with talent development within the department budget parameters. Assists with performance evaluations, positive discipline, and initiation of corrective action plans as needed. Participates in task force committees and meetings, completes delegated assignments and projects, and facilitates collaboration between patient service and clinical areas. Develops, facilitates, and implements performance improvement initiatives to enhance nutrition-related processes and patient care programs. Researches, reviews, and organizes best available evidence to ensure evidence-based practices are implemented in nutrition and dietetic services. Remains abreast of current research, evidence-based guidelines, and technology relevant to clinical nutrition and medical nutrition therapy. Ensures clinical staff provide safe, quality service based on customer expectations and organizational mission and vision.
