Job summary

AdventHealth in Rome, GA is seeking a Dietitian to perform nutrition-focused assessments, evaluations, and counseling on a PRN Day shift. You will interpret data, offer nutrition interventions, and coordinate referrals while supporting staff education and quality initiatives.

The role requires an RDN credential with clinical experience; you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to extend compassionate nutritional care consistent with our healing mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related field.
• 3+ years experience in a clinical setting.
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nutrition-focused assessments and reviews of medical records.
• Provide nutrition interventions, counseling, and referrals as appropriate.
• Enter nutrition orders where approved by Medical Staff policy.
• Participate in quality improvement and interdisciplinary rounds.
• Supervise dietetic interns and new staff as assigned.

Job Description:

• Completes nutrition-focused physical assessments, takes measurements, reviews medical records, collects data via interviews, and evaluates anthropometric status.
• Evaluates assessment data to identify nutrition risks, nutrition problems, criteria consistent with malnutrition, knowledge deficits, and high-risk health behaviors.
• Offers nutrition interventions, orders, education, counseling, and referrals to other services.
• Provides counseling and education using evidence-based techniques that reflect appropriate health literacy and cultural sensitivity to patients with disease processes requiring nutritional management.
• Supervises practice experience for dietetic interns, dietetic technicians, registration eligible dietitians and new employees, participates in research, performance improvement, and initiatives.
• Enters nutrition orders when authorized by Medical Staff policy and procedure to reflect patient care.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and have good comprehension of conversational English
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Comprehensive knowledge and application of nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy
• General knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, e-mail, and spreadsheet software
• Ability to search the web for nutrition research or practice updates and apply knowledge to updating reference materials, preparing for presentations, education, etc.
• Avails self to staff on units as the nutrition expert
• Participates in Quality Improvement activities
• Attends interdisciplinary meetings and rounds on assigned units as scheduled unless valid excuse demonstrated
• Reviews and/or updates department resource/reference materials when applicable or Required Education:
