Job summary

Atrium Health University City Radiology is seeking a part-time PRN Radiography assistant to perform basic diagnostic x-rays under supervision. The position prefers a senior or second-year radiography student and offers a sign-on bonus eligibility based on eligibility.

You will assist in patient prep, safety, and workflow in the radiology department, under a radiology technologist. Requires high school diploma or GED and BLS; weekend or flexible hours may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field.
• Clinical experience based on the educational program affiliated with the pursuit of career in medical imaging; Medical clerical skills preferred.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic diagnostic x-rays supervised by a radiology technologist.
• Identifies and assists patients with questions about procedures.
• Prepares patients for exam and ensures patient safety in the absence of the radiology technologist.
• Obtains medications, radiopharmaeceuticals, or contrast media materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist or registered nurse.
• Assists physicians and technologists in the performance of diagnostic exams based on assigned modality and career pursuits to include procedures requiring the administration of contrast media.
