Job summary

UVA Community Health's Radiology Technologist role is a PRN position in the radiology department. You will assist physicians, prepare patients, and operate x-ray equipment to obtain diagnostic images, contributing to high-quality patient care in a busy setting.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, graduates from an accredited radiology program, and ARRT eligibility, with 2 years of diagnostic radiology experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; graduate of an accredited Radiology program.
• 2 years of experience in diagnostic radiology preferred.
• ARRT or registry eligible required; must complete ARRT within 12 months of hire.
• Applicable state licensure as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in diagnostic/therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the x-ray equipment to obtain diagnostic images.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort in the radiology department; explain procedures and post-procedure orders to gain cooperation.
• Maintain sterile equipment and perform quality control on the equipment; adjust cameras for proper density and contrast; critique images for quality.
