Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Radiologic/CT Technologist for PRN shifts in Arkansas. You will perform radiographic and CT examinations, position patients, select techniques, and adhere to ALARA principles in a safety-sensitive environment.

Responsibilities include verifying requisitions, ensuring patient safety, documenting data, and coordinating workflow with the department. ARRT RT (R) and Arkansas license required; CT cross-training encouraged.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT certification as RT (R) required.
  • Current Arkansas radiologic technologist license.
  • Willing to cross-train for CT is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify each patient and review requisition for consistency of examination ordered, clinical diagnosis and all demographic information.
  • Assess patient condition and ensure safety through proper use of restraints/support devices under supervision of Director.
  • Review each examination for technical accuracy, present completed examination to Director, and communicate pertinent data to care team.
  • Identify anatomical orientation on all required images and ensure proper film identification.
  • Coordinate radiographic examination to ensure quality and continuity of patient care and assist with department workflow in absence of Director.
  • Document patient information to ensure quality of care.
  • Demonstrate competency in radiation protection and shields patients properly.
  • Organize patient care and prioritize by providing critical care and following physician orders.
  • Report safety hazards to Director immediately and keep informed of unusual concerns.
  • Attend in-services as required and perform related duties.

The Radiologic/CT Technologist will be responsible for performing radiographic & CT examinations, positioning the patient and equipment in an appropriate manner and selecting radiographic technique, ALARA. This is a SAFETY SENSITIVE position and requires regular attendance.

Key Position Accountabilities:
  • Identify each patient and review each patient's requisition for consistency of examination ordered clinical diagnosis and all demographic information.
  • Assess patient condition, ensure patient safety through proper use of restraint/support devices under supervision of Director.
  • Review each examination for technical accuracy, present completed examination to Director, and communicate pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of patient following the procedure.
  • Identify anatomical orientation on all required images and ensure proper film identification on all images.
  • Coordinate radiographic examination to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care and assist with the management of the workflow of the department to ensure the completion of the work assignments in the absence of the Director.
  • Document correctly and accurately patient information to ensure the quality of patient care.
  • Demonstrate competency and proficiency in radiation protection, protecting self and other personnel during all radiologic examinations, and shields patients properly.
  • Demonstrate ability to organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first and by implementing the physician's orders.
  • Report all safety hazards that could harm patients, visitors or other hospital employees to the Director immediately.
  • Keep Director informed of any unusual concerns, situations or conditions relative to staff, patients and physicians.
  • Attends in-services as required, as documented by sign-in sheets.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.
Education/Licensure:
  • Graduate of a program in Radiologic Technology
  • Passed ARRT examination earning the credentials of a Registered Radiologic Technologist RT (R)
  • Valid Radiologic Technologist License by the state of Arkansas
  • Trained CT Technologist preferred but must be willing to cross train for CT
Special Requirements:

Occasional exposure to ionizing radiation. Requires standing, lifting and walking regularly during the shift. Occasional exposure to blood and bodily fluids.

Requirements

This is a PRN position that requires the employee to work at least 1 shift every 60 days.
