Job summary

Gila Regional Medical Center is seeking a CT Tech/Radiology Tech to perform radiology and CT procedures and contribute to diagnostic evaluations. You will provide clinical instruction to students and ensure quality through QA/QC checks.

The role requires ARRT certification, NM state license, and BLS within 3 months. Experience in radiology and CT is preferred, with willingness to cross-train in other modalities and strong computer skills.

Qualifications

• Current ARRT certification.
• Current NM State license.
• AHA BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• One year Radiology experience required.
• One year CT Tech experience preferred.
• Willingness to cross train in other modalities highly preferred.
• Computer proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT and Radiology procedures and diagnostic evaluations of patient.
• Assesses patient needs relevant to CT or Radiology procedures.
• Stocks rooms with adequate supplies and maintains an orderly working area.
• Maintains adequate records and performs QA/QC checks as needed.
• Uses radiation protection measures such as time, collimation, and shielding.
• Follows hospital policy regarding pain management and use of restraints for patients.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of the PACS and MediTech systems.
• Provides clinical instruction to students and precepts new techs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The CT Tech/Radiology Tech is responsible for performing radiology and CT procedures and diagnostic evaluations of patients. S/he provides clinical instruction to students, follows pain management protocols, and maintains adequate records and supplies.

Essential Functions

• Performs CT and Radiology procedures and diagnostic evaluations of patient, which include a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed exposure parameters for CT or Radiology procedures according to patient age, mental, and physical status.
• Assesses patient needs relevant to CT or Radiology procedures.
• Stocks rooms with adequate supplies and maintains an orderly working area.
• Maintains adequate records as directed to ensure safety, proper care of patients, and diagnostic quality of CT or Radiology examinations. Maintains records and performs Quality Assurance/ Quality Control checks as needed.
• Consistently uses radiation protection measures such as time, collimation, and shielding.
• Follows hospital policy regarding pain management and use of restraints for patients.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of the PACS and MediTech systems.
• Provides clinical instruction to students, and precepts new techs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
