Job summary

Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking a PRN Radiation Therapist to deliver prescribed radiation treatments with precision. You will ensure proper patient positioning, operate treatment equipment, and monitor patients to maintain safety and comfort throughout therapy.

Collaborate with the oncology team to provide high-quality care, document treatment data, and uphold safety protocols. Ideal candidates have ARRT-T or state licensure and 1–2 years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of radiation physics, treatment planning, and safety protocols.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support patient-centered care.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow detailed treatment protocols.

Responsibilities

• Deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments using megavoltage equipment and verify daily treatment parameters.
• Position patients and adjust equipment according to treatment plans.
• Perform daily QA checks and initiate corrective action for deficiencies.
• Conduct CT simulations and obtain portal/verification images as per protocols.
• Maintain treatment records and document delivered doses and patient responses.
• Explain procedures to patients and address questions throughout treatment.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and report concerns to staff.
• Ensure radiation safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
