Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a PRN Radiation Therapist in Chula Vista, CA to deliver prescribed radiation therapy at South Bay Radiation Oncology. The role requires ARRT certification, a related degree, and ability to work a flexible schedule.

Experience in a similar setting is preferred. The position offers an hourly rate of $51.20–$73/hour with benefits including paid time off and a supportive oncology team.

Qualifications

• ARRT Board certified preferred
• Graduate of an accredited school of radiation therapy technology
• Two years clinical experience in similar setting preferred
• Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed

Responsibilities

• Administer radiation therapy as prescribed by the physician.
• Verify prescribed treatment dose before each treatment; verify fields to be treated, and angles to be used.
• Ensure shielding to protect healthy tissue.
• Simulate patients using simulator, CT scanner or other devices to localize treatment areas.
• Maintain treatment charts and documentation.
• Monitor patient condition and report complications.
• Follow radiation safety procedures.
• Perform machine safety checks and report abnormalities to Center Leader.
• Collaborate with Radiation Oncologist and therapy team to prepare treatment plan.
