Job summary

Kern River Transitional Care is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehab team on a PRN basis in Bakersfield, CA. The PTA works under a licensed Physical Therapist to help residents improve mobility and independence.

Responsibilities include treatments, exercises, mobility, transfers, and documentation, with a focus on safety and resident-centered care. California PTA license and CPR certification are required, prioritized experience in skilled nursing or

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current California PTA license in good standing
• Current CPR certification
• Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments according to the plan of care established by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, mobility training, transfers, balance, and gait activities.
• Observe and document residents’ progress, responses, and changes in condition.
• Communicate resident updates and concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on exercises and safety techniques.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Follow facility policies and applicable state and federal regulations.
