Job summary

PACS Group in Overland Park, Kansas seeks a PRN Physical Therapy Assistant to support patient care in a fast-paced facility. The role involves implementing the physician-approved plan, supervising PT assistants, and coordinating with the care team to ensure effective progress and safety.

You will document assessments, participate in care conferences, and assist with caregiver training and discharge planning to promote patient mobility and independence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy required.
• Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the state required.
• Continuing education as per state practice.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients within 24 hours or 1 business day of physician referral.
• Develop treatment plan and obtain approval from referring physician.
• Supervise PT assistants and aides in direct patient care.
• Communicate patient progress with supervisor and health team members.
• Participate in Patient Care Conferences, Utilization Review and Rehabilitation Conferences.
• Document evaluations and treatment notes per policy.
• Instruct patient families and nursing staff for discharge preparation and caregiver training.
• Assist in discharge planning and equipment orders to improve mobility.
