Job summary

Emerald Care Center Claremore is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled nursing facility team. The PTA will work closely with our physical therapists and nursing staff to provide high-quality rehabilitation services to our residents.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in Oklahoma.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in implementing and modifying treatment plans based on patients’ needs and progress. Provide hands-on therapy, including exercises, manual therapy, and modalities as directed.
• Collect and document patient data, including progress notes, treatment outcomes, and responses to therapy. Report any changes in patients' conditions to the physical therapist.
• Educate patients and their families about therapeutic exercises, equipment use, and strategies for enhancing functional independence. Offer guidance on home exercise programs and preventive care.
• Set up and maintain therapeutic equipment and assist patients with the use of therapeutic devices and aids.
• Work collaboratively with physical therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care. Participate in care team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized care plans.
• Adhere to facility policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. Maintain a clean and safe therapy environment.
