Job summary

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital; Fort Smith is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team on a PRN, day shift schedule. You will support licensed PTs, help patients with mobility and therapeutic activities, and contribute to a compassionate, high-quality care environment.

Qualified candidates hold an Arkansas PTA license in good standing, an accredited PTA associate degree, CPR certification, and strong communication skills. Rehab/acute care experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Current PTA license in Arkansas in good standing.
• CPR certification.
• Experience in rehab or acute care is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Assist patients with mobility, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities
• Observe and document patient progress, reporting updates to the supervising PT
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
• Help ensure a safe, clean, and supportive treatment environment
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented workplace and step in with additional duties as needed
