Job summary

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital; Fort Smith is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team in Fort Smith, AR. This PRN, day shift position supports licensed Physical Therapists by delivering treatments, assisting patients with mobility and exercises, and documenting progress.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate's PTA degree, Arkansas PTA license in good standing, and CPR certification. Rehab/acute care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited PTA program is required.
• Current PTA license in the state of Arkansas in good standing is required.
• CPR certification is required.
• Previous rehab or acute care experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist patients with mobility, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities.
• Observe and document patient progress, reporting updates to the supervising PT.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
• Help ensure a safe, clean, and supportive treatment environment.
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented workplace and take on additional duties as needed.
