Job summary

Meridian Health Services is seeking a PRN Psychiatric Technician for Riverbend Hospital in West Lafayette, Indiana. The role focuses on supporting patient care, ADLs, treatment engagement, and safety within the unit.

The position involves assisting with nursing tasks under supervision, maintaining documentation, and contributing to a therapeutic ward environment. PRN status implies as-needed hours with a focus on patient well-being.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited high school or its equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age at completion of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Attends to client's personal needs on Units (phone calls, clothing, laundry, exercise, etc.).
• Initiates and assists in client ADL's.
• Encourages and engages clients in treatment, social, leisure, and recreational activities.
• Utilizes therapeutic skills in interactions with clients, families, and visitors.
• Keeps clients informed of their treatment plan objectives and progress.
• Demonstrates competency in taking vital signs, obtaining urine specimens, assisting with nursing tasks under Unit Nurse directions.
• Documents detailed observations, behaviors and interventions on assigned patients.
• Maintains Unit supplies, cleanliness, order, and routines as established by Hospital, Program and nursing policy and procedure.
