Job summary

Texas Health Mansfield is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for the surgical/outpatient unit in Mansfield, TX. Shifts typically begin at 5:30 AM and end around 12:00 PM, with flexibility as needed. The role involves direct patient care, medication administration, and pre-/post-operative education.

Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing and RN license with BLS; experience on a surgical floor or recovery area is preferred. ACLS required; PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• RN license required with active status.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• ACLS certification required.
• PALS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document patient and family needs to guide quality care.
• Gather data to support initial nursing care and discharge plans.
• Identify and report patient condition abnormalities to anesthesia or surgeon.
• Observe patients during stay in the outpatient surgery dept.
• Document medications, allergies, and patient information.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products per orders.
• Coordinate scheduling and preparation for procedures.
• Provide pre-op and post-op education to patients and families.
