Job summary

District Surgery Center, LLC in Bethesda, MD is seeking a PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse (PRN) to perform pre-operative telephone assessments, coordinate with the Nurse Administrator and anesthesiologist, and provide high-quality PACU nursing care.

You will conduct pre-op teaching, maintain logs, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate across front desk, anesthesia, and clinical staff to support safe patient discharge.

Qualifications

• Current Maryland or compact-state RN licensure.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years PACU nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations of the Pre-Op area, ensuring staffing, patient flow, and timely chart review.
• Serves as first point of contact for clinical questions from staff, anesthesia, and surgeons.
• Provides real-time support for problem-solving, patient concerns, and coordination between front desk, anesthesia, and clinical staff.
• Ensures regulatory and safety standards are maintained, including documentation accuracy, infection control, and medication handling.
• Delivers PACU nursing care with assessments, monitoring, and patient education prior to discharge.
• Collaborates with anesthesia and surgeons to resolve clinical concerns promptly.
