Job summary

Frederick Health Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Physician Assistant for Employer Solutions on a PRN/As Needed basis. The role involves performing physical exams, ordering diagnostics, and providing patient care in collaboration with a supervising physician.

The position requires active Maryland PA licensure, DEA and BLS certifications, and previous hospital or outpatient experience is preferred. On-site work with a part-time schedule is involved, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Maintains CME credits to keep licensure current.
• Demonstrates organization and ability to multi-task.
• Demonstrates time management, conflict resolution and troubleshooting skills.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical exams and assessments for urgent, emergent, and non-urgent presentations.
• Order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests in collaboration with supervising physician.
• Analyze test results with supervising physician to aid diagnosis.
• Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other care with supervision.
• Refer patients to PCP or specialists as appropriate.
• Perform procedures such as laceration repair, IV placement, splinting, and ear irrigation.
• Use practice guidelines and standardized procedures with supervising physicians.
