Job summary

East Bay Post Acute is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for PRN coverage in Oakland, CA. You will work under a licensed Physical Therapist to help residents improve strength, balance, and mobility, while supporting a resident-centered rehab plan.

The position emphasizes interdisciplinary teamwork, accurate documentation, and education for residents and caregivers. California PTA license and program graduate status are required; nursing and rehab staff collaboration is

Qualifications

Current California PTA license in good standing.
Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

Provide physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
Assist residents with therapeutic exercises to improve strength, balance, mobility, and endurance.
Assist residents with transfers, ambulation, positioning, and functional mobility.
Monitor resident response to treatment and document progress in records.
Educate residents and caregivers on exercises, mobility techniques, safety strategies, and fall prevention.
Collaborate with nursing and other professionals to support resident care goals.
Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and care conferences as needed.
