Job summary

Sanford Health in Jackson, MN is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to work under a Physical Therapist to help patients maximize independence through prescribed treatment plans. The PTA will provide, monitor, and document therapy services, select and adjust activities, and communicate progress to the supervising PT, while upholding professional guidelines and standards.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from an approved American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) PTA program.
• Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the practicing state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides, monitors and records therapy services to patients/residents with physical, cognitive, or developmental impairments
• Selects, implements, and modifies therapeutic activities and interventions to meet goals
• Exchanges information with and provides documentation to the physical therapist about responses to and communications during intervention
• Follows and adheres to accepted clinical practice guidelines of professional organization
