Job summary

Windsor Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Windsor, NC is seeking a part-time PRN Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to provide comprehensive therapy under the supervision of a PT. The role includes patient evaluation support, documentation, scheduling, and interdepartmental coordination to ensure quality care.

Qualified candidates have a BA or AA in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA and hold current license/registration in the state.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines.
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient’s daily participation and progress on progress note with co-signature of the PT.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications and discharges.
• Assist with other documentation requirements as indicated and according to state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
• Complete billing and bill patients ethically and accurately for physical therapy services rendered.
• Cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absence as necessary.
• Supervise junior PTA staff members or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff, patients and families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care to rehab staff, facility staff and community as needed.
• Comply with safety policies and patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights.
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours and maintain a professional image.
• Adhere to productivity requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Regional Manager.
