Job summary

Saint Peters Rehab and Healthcare Center is seeking a Registered Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support the therapy team in providing patient care and implementing treatment plans under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.

The PTA will document treatment and communicate patient progress, participate in care plan meetings, and help advance clinical programming while prioritizing patient outcomes and community partnerships.

Qualifications

• Certified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct treatment to patients per plan of care by supervising Physical Therapist.
• Reports adverse responses to treatment promptly to the Physical Therapist.
• Documents all pertinent PT treatment information accurately and timely.
• Maintains productivity and time management according to daily schedule.
• Participates in patient care plan meetings with the interdisciplinary team.
• Communicates patient responses and progress to the supervising PT.
• Contributes to program development and shares best practices with Rehab Team.
• Aids patients in achieving outcomes and acts as a trusted community partner.

Physical Therapist Assistant, PTA Job Description:

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) supports the Physical Therapist in implementing resident-specific treatment plans.

PTA) Responsibilities:

• Provides direct treatment to patients in accordance with the established plan of care developed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Is alert to detect signs and symptoms of favorable and unfavorable reactions to treatment. Reporting adverse responses to treatment immediately to the physical therapist.
• Accurately and regularly record all pertinent information regarding the Physical Therapy treatment program. Accurately and timely document the need for the skilled service in each record entry.
• Consistently perform at the required productivity level maintaining effective time management according to daily schedule.
• Attend and contribute to patient care plan meetings for an interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Communicates patient's response to treatment and progress towards established goals with supervising physical therapist.
• Active participation in program development and clinical programming. Identify best practices for Physical Therapy practice and share with Rehab Team.
• Assist patients in achieving critical outcomes while acting as a trusted partner within the community.
