Job summary

Liberty Hospital is seeking a PRN Phlebotomist to join the clinical laboratory team. The phlebotomist will collect specimens via venipuncture, identify patients, label tubes accurately, and ensure proper handling in HIS and LIS systems.

Responsibilities include providing patient care for adverse reactions, mentoring students and staff, maintaining supplies while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. Prior phlebotomy experience and a valid driver's license are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in specimen collection/processing or completion of a phlebotomy program.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record if travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs blood draws by venipuncture following standard protocol.
• Labels tubes and ensures proper container type, labeling and handling.
• Enter data in HIS and LIS per policy and practice.
• Provides patient care if post-venipuncture reactions occur.
• Mentors students, employees, patients and providers as applicable.
• Maintains supplies inventory and ensures pre-analytical accuracy.
