Job Description

UC Health is hiring a PRN Clinical Staff Pharmacist for the Inpatient Pharmacy Department at the University of Cincinnati's Medical Center.

Clinical staff pharmacists fill orders for medications, monitor patient medication therapies, provide drug information, and supervise support personnel. In the absence of the pharmacy manager, a clinical staff pharmacist may assume the responsibilities of the pharmacy manager.

Unit Details

• Level 1 Trauma Facility
• No on-call requirements; every third-weekend rotation

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medication orders accurately per physician requests
• Interpret medication orders, transcribe to patient profiles, and maintain records
• Safely prepare sterile, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition medications
• Issue controlled substances and maintain legal records
• Ensure safe, cost-effective medication therapies
• Contribute to departmental quality and operation
• Maintain competence and meet performance standards
• Assist with pharmacokinetics and drug dosing as per protocol

Qualifications

Education: B.S. in pharmacy required; PharmD preferred

License and Certification: Ohio pharmacist license or eligibility; ACLS preferred

Experience: Minimum six months hospital pharmacy internship or experience; PGY1 residency preferred

Skills and Knowledge: Ability to work independently, handle interruptions, prioritize, exercise judgment, communicate effectively, and meet patient care needs.

Additional Information

Expected salary range: $56.81/hr - $70.23/hr, dependent on experience and skills.
