Job summary

Avenue 360 is a Federally Qualified Health Center in Houston providing comprehensive pharmacy services. The Staff Pharmacist will dispense prescription drugs, provide patient counseling, and supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure high-quality service and safety.

• Evaluate appropriateness of prescription orders with consideration for patient safety and legal requirements.
• Performs drug utilization reviews (DURs) and documents interventions.
• Prior authorization management with pre-approval process for filling prescribed medication orders to ensure proper insurance coverage.
• Monitors the health and progress of patients in response to drug therapy.
• Advise patients and answer questions about prescription drugs, OTCs, and lifestyle factors.

About the role

The Staff Pharmacist manages and maintains workflow efficiency. Additionally, the Staff Pharmacist dispenses prescription drugs to patients while delivering superior customer service. They provide information about those drugs and help patients understand the instructions their doctors or other health practitioners provided. The Staff Pharmacist provides supervision to pharmacy technicians.
