Job summary

Blue Ridge Health is seeking a PRN (as needed) Pharmacist in Hendersonville, NC to join our Pharmacy Team. No nights or weekends requested; two weekdays flexible scheduling preferred.

The Pharmacist will prepare medications, provide drug information, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care. Responsibilities include coordinating with the pharmacist manager, maintaining records, consulting with physicians on drugs, and ensuring narcotics control and NC compliance.

Qualifications

• BS Pharmacy degree required.
• NC pharmacist licensure preferred.
• Experience with narcotics handling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares medications and provides pharmacological information to a multidisciplinary health care team.
• Coordinates work assignments with the pharmacist manager and supervises staff as needed.
• Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence related to pharmacy operations.
• Consults with staff physicians on drug use, characteristics, and effects of medications.
• Maintains custody and control of narcotics and ensures compliance with applicable laws.
• Monitors patient drug therapies and checks for physical, chemical, and therapeutic incompatibilities.
• Assesses patient health in relation to administered medications.

What You'll Do:

The Pharmacist serves patients by preparing medications, giving pharmacological information to a multidisciplinary health care team, and monitors patient drug therapies. Responsibilities include:

• Coordinates activities with pharmacist manager by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.
• Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work.
• Consults with staff Physicians on the use, characteristics, and effects of drugs
• Maintains custody and control of narcotics
• Ability to recognize physical, chemical, and therapeutic incompatibilities
• Thorough knowledge of pharmacy, drug, narcotic, and related laws of the state of NC
• Monitor and analyze the health of the patient, with respect to the drugs that have been given to patient.
