Job summary

Steele Healthcare Solutions, LLC in Chicago seeks a PRN Pathologist to provide PTO coverage for 7-8 weeks per year. This flexible role offers exposure to a collaborative hospital laboratory environment and the chance to maintain ongoing practice in an otherwise independent setting.

The selected physician will perform anatomic and clinical pathology duties, including surgical pathology interpretation, gross examination, and clinical pathology consultation, while serving as a resource for blood

Qualifications

• BC/BE in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology required.
• Active Illinois medical license (or ability to obtain).
• Strong grossing skills.
• Ability to practice independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with blood bank and transfusion medicine consultations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret surgical pathology specimens and render timely diagnoses.
• Perform and/or oversee gross examination of specimens.
• Provide clinical pathology consultation to medical staff.
• Address blood bank and transfusion medicine-related inquiries.
• Collaborate with laboratory personnel and hospital clinicians.
• Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
