As a Paramedic, you will provide immediate medical treatment to patients with critical injuries, illnesses, and concerns. Fast thinking and processing are essential, as every second counts in an emergency. Your efforts help improve outcomes and make a lasting difference in patients' lives, their families, and your colleagues.

Work shifts vary from 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM.

A caregiver in this role will:

• Provide patient care in the Emergency Department under RN supervision.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, CPR, phlebotomy, and suctioning.
• Initiate cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, and saline locks.
• Notify RN/physician of rhythm changes.
• Apply orthopedic appliances and simple splints.
• Size crutches and instruct on crutch walking.
• Assist with equipment setup, chest tubes, gastric lavage, LP, etc.
• Assist with patient restraint and seclusion, applying restraint devices.
• Transport patients and specimens.
• Assist with sterile procedures and maintain supplies/equipment.
• Administer fluids and medications.

Minimum qualifications include:

• Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic Training Program.
• Current Ohio EMT-Paramedic licensure.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications from AHA.
• Clinical experience from EMS Paramedic Training.

Preferred qualifications include:

• ITLS Certification.
• One year of EMT-P experience.

Physical requirements include:

• Full body motion for moving/lifting patients, manual dexterity, extensive standing/walking.
• Medium work exerting 20-50 pounds force occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently.
• Physical demands exceed Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Use of PPE as required by standard precautions.
