Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a PRN Paramedic to join our Transport EMS team supporting Hamburg/Lexington/Georgetown, KY locations. You will provide advanced life support care, perform ambulance transportation within scope of practice, and complete timely patient documentation.

This role requires Kentucky-licensed paramedics with BLS, PALS and ACLS. The position operates on a PRN basis, with responsibilities across multiple sites, ensuring vehicle readiness, team coordination, and adherence to

Qualifications

• Active Paramedic license through the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider (AHA/ARC).
• PALS and ACLS certifications.
• Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care within department protocols and state scope of practice.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition and communicate them appropriately.
• Complete all required documentation and patient care reports within required timeframes.

Administers direct care to the patient of all age groups under the direction of an emergency medical physician, emergency physician's assistant, and emergency advanced registered nurse practitioner or utilizes approved EMS medical protocols if transporting a patient. Ensures adherence to hospital and department policies as well as paramedic scope of practice.

• Provides patient care within the medical director approved department protocols and state scope of practice.
• Recognizes, responds to, and communicates changes in patient condition appropriately.
• Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation and patient care reports within required timeframe.
• Provides care appropriate to the emergency population and maintains the environment of care.
• Performs ambulance transportation services within the scope of practice of a Paramedic.
• Sets priorities for the transport of multiple patients.
• Assures resources and coordinates plan of delivery.
• Maintains knowledge and familiarity with each vehicle in fleet in order to operate smooth and safely.
• Assures ambulance is clean, stocked and response ready at the beginning and end of every shift as well as prior to each and every request for service.
• Ensures proper vehicle maintenance and equipment readiness as well as proper ALS gear readiness and utilization.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Active Paramedic license through the Kentucky Board of EMS at time of consideration.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider issued by AHA or ARC.
• PALS & ACLS certifications.
• Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• Valid driver's license.
