Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a PRN Paramedic to join our Transport EMS team serving the Hamburg/Lexington/Georgetown area in Kentucky. You will provide advanced life support care, deliver patient-centered EMS transportation, and operate within department protocols and state scope of practice under medical direction.

Documentation, vehicle readiness, and coordination of care are essential responsibilities in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active Paramedic license through the Kentucky Board of EMS at time of consideration.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider issued by AHA or ARC.
• PALS & ACLS certifications.
• Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced life support care to patients in the transport EMS setting.
• Complete documentation and patient care reports within required timeframes.
• Maintain ambulance readiness, stock, and equipment prior to and after each shift and response.
• Coordinate patient transport priorities and ensure safe, timely delivery of multiple patients.

Administers direct care to the patient of all age groups under the direction of an emergency medical physician, emergency physician's assistant, and emergency advanced registered nurse practitioner or utilizes approved EMS medical protocols if transporting a patient. Ensures adherence to hospital and department policies as well as paramedic scope of practice.

• Provides patient care within the medical director approved department protocols and state scope of practice.
• Recognizes, responds to, and communicates changes in patient condition appropriately.
• Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation and patient care reports within required timeframe.
• Provides care appropriate to the emergency population and maintains the environment of care.
• Performs ambulance transportation services within the scope of practice of a Paramedic.
• Sets priorities for the transport of multiple patients.
• Assures resources and coordinates plan of delivery.
• Maintains knowledge and familiarity with each vehicle in fleet in order to operate smooth and safely.
• Assures ambulance is clean, stocked and response ready at the beginning and end of every shift as well as prior to each and every request for service.
• Ensures proper vehicle maintenance and equipment readiness as well as proper ALS gear readiness and utilization.

Minimum Requirements
