Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast in Pasadena, TX is seeking a PRN PACU Recovery RN to support immediate post-operative care for high-acuity cases in a Level III Trauma Center. You will manage airway support, monitor neurological and cardiac status, and provide wound care while collaborating with anesthesia and the surgical team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (RN Compact requires TX license within 90 days).
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS issued by the American Heart Association are required.
• 1 year of clinical Recovery Room experience as an RN is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full clinical cycle by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care from pre-admission through discharge.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures accurately while assisting physicians with exams/tests.
• Observe patient conditions, document activities, and escalate significant changes or reactions.
• Respond to call lights, assist with hygiene, and respect diverse cultural and spiritual values.
• Promote collaboration by sharing knowledge with the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in hospital performance initiatives to optimize safety and outcomes.
