Job summary

Intermountain Health’s outpatient pharmacy at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, CO seeks an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician to help launch a new service line.

You’ll collaborate with pharmacists to prepare prescriptions, coordinate access, and support patients across the care continuum in a retail-like but patient-focused setting. Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Current pharmacy technician certification/license for the state of practice.
• Knowledge of state/federal regulations for pharmacy and controlled substances.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist in collecting clinical and other patient information and maintaining records.
• Uses pharmacy technology to prepare medication orders and perform calculations for dispensing.
• Attains supervision and accuracy checks by the pharmacist and understands when verification is needed.
• Maintains medication supplies and monitors controlled substances inventories for security and cost effectiveness.
• Communicates with caregivers and participates in quality and patient safety initiatives.
