Job summary

Inova Franconia-Springfield Ambulatory Surgery Center in Alexandria, VA is seeking a PRN, seasoned Operating Room RN to join our team. This day-shift role focuses on scrub and circulating duties and maintaining sterile technique throughout procedures.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year OR nursing experience, 3+ years scrub/circulating, and an active Virginia RN license with BLS certification. Join us in delivering high-quality ambulatory care in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• One year of operating room nursing experience is required.
• Three or more years of scrub and circulating experience are highly desired.
• RN graduate from an accredited nursing institution; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of Virginia.
• BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Scrub/Circulate surgical procedures
• Provide communication between team members in the surgical field and outside the operating room
• Maintain sterile environment during the surgical procedure
• Conduct and document sponge/sharps and instrument counts as required
• Complete intra-operative documentation of the procedure
• Act as the patient’s advocate during the stay in the operating room
• Assist with room turnover, disposal of trash and linen, cleaning of OR table and floor, and opening of sterile supplies
