Job summary

Orthopaedic Specialists of Austin is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for a fast-paced operating room role. This PRN-to-full-time position focuses on surgical care, patient safety, and teamwork within our orthopedic surgery center.

As an OR nurse, you will support surgeons, prep the OR, scrub in, pass instruments, and monitor patients throughout procedures, ensuring excellent care from pre-op to post-op.

Qualifications

• RN license in Maine or eligible for licensure.
• Experience in a surgical setting with scrubbing required; orthopedic experience a plus.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; CNOR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Prepare the operating room and ensure supplies are ready for procedures.
• Provide hands-on support during surgeries, including scrubbing and instrument passage.
• Monitor vital signs and patient well-being throughout the surgical process.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and adhere to safety standards.
• Uphold infection control practices and communicate clearly with patients and families.
• Advocate for patients and provide compassionate care before, during, and after surgery.
