Job summary

Orthopaedic Associates of Maine in Portland, ME is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for a fast-paced operating room environment. As a PRN yet full-time role totaling 36 hours per week, you will support surgical teams, ensure sterile technique, and advocate for patient safety throughout the perioperative process.

Ideal candidates hold an active Maine RN license (or eligibility), with scrubbing experience in a surgical setting; orthopedic experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• RN license in Maine or eligible to practice in Maine.
• Experience in a surgical setting; scrubbing experience required; orthopedic experience a plus.
• BLS and ACLS certifications; CNOR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the operating room and ensuring supplies are ready.
• Provide hands-on support during procedures, including scrubbing in and passing instruments.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall well-being throughout the surgical process.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and comply with safety standards.
• Support patients before, during, and after surgery with clear communication.
