Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for Medical-Surgical/Orthopedic care. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing as part of a multidisciplinary team, following evidence-based practices and established nursing models.

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, while educating patients and families. This role emphasizes compassionate care, advocacy, and maintaining the hospital's clinical standards.

Qualifications

• RN license or higher required (state license)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date
• RN candidacy required for the unit: Medical-Surgical/Orthopedic
• No travel required

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient conditions each shift and report changes promptly.
• Administer prescribed medications and document care in the medical record.
• Respond to patient requests promptly and coordinate with care team to meet needs.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up steps.
