Job summary

Virginia Oncology Associates (VOA) is seeking a PRN Pharmacist to support our Retail locations in all offices. This role offers mileage reimbursement and is an in-person position with compensation range $65.00-$67.00 hourly. Employment Type: PRN, Benefits: M/D/V, Life Ins., 401(k).

The pharmacist will prepare and dispense medication orders, verify information, contact patients post-fill to support adherence, and oversee pharmacy staff to ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Pharmacy from an accredited institution; Doctorate preferred.
• Minimum three years in Retail Pharmacy preferred.
• Knowledge of Specialty Pharmacy and URAC accreditation requirements.
• Knowledge of cancer care and cancer medications strongly preferred.
• Proficient with Pharmacy Management systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Must be registered or eligible for Virginia pharmacist licensure.
• Ability to communicate drug information to patients and clinical staff.
• Ability to work well with co-workers, patients/caregivers, and physicians.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal pharmacy laws.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and dispenses medication orders.
• Checks orders for completeness of information; verifies patient information and physician authorization; checks insurance approval.
• Calls patients after prescription fills to support adherence.
• Provides oversight to pharmacy staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely prescription fills.
• Manages daily drug inventories and end-of-month inventory submission to accounting.
• Maintains effective relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and payor contracting groups.
• Ensures SOPs are complete, current, and compliant with standards.
