Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a major in occupational therapy.
• State licensure with the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
• Certified Lymphedema Therapist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes case history and notes pertinent to prior medical history as reported by patient and caregiver.
• Demonstrates flexibility in assessment procedure; adjusts evaluation session according to patient's needs and abilities.
• Accurately assesses: ROM, strength, sensation, tissue tension, spasm and pain, functional and ADL deficits; neuromotor, neuro behavioral, sensory oral motor, developmental and orthopedic status; visual, perceptual and cognitive abilities.
• Counsels patients and/or families regarding assessment results and provides relevant education materials.
• Appropriately carries out treatment plan with ongoing assessment and modifications when necessary, using measurable goals and objectives which are age and/or diagnosis specific.
• Recommends appropriate home programs and documents patient education in progress notes.
• Any other duties as assigned by Woman’s Hospital.
