Job summary

CommuniCare Rehab seeks a FULL TIME Occupational Therapist (OT) to join River Oaks Healthcare Center. The OT will evaluate and treat facility residents per physician orders, develop and implement treatment plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary rehab team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an Accredited Program.
• Occupational Therapy License (Required).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Competency in therapy treatment and evaluation principles, techniques, and equipment.
• Knowledge of state and federal accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, screen, and treat facility patients/residents who are in need for Occupational Therapy services.
• Review medical chart and screen prior to completing evaluation to determine patient needs.
• Perform patient evaluations under physician order and develop treatment plans.
• Implement treatment plan and educate treatment staff and team members.
• Provide supervision for Occupational Therapy Assistants.
• Maintain professional growth through continuing education and approved learning experiences.
• Maintain confidentiality of medical records and rehab information.
• Maintain accurate billing information per facility procedures.
• Lead interdisciplinary meetings to relay findings and recommendations.
• Comply with rehab documentation requirements.
• Conduct staff/family training and in-services as appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelor’s and/or a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an Accredited Program.

• Implement treatment plan through direct treatment, as well as education of treatment staff including therapists and other members of team involved in treatment plan.
• Provide necessary supervision for Occupational Therapy Assistants.
• Maintain professional growth and development by participating in continuing education programs and other approved learning experiences.
• Maintain confidentiality of all medical record, facility, and rehab related information.
• Maintain accurate billing information in accordance with facility procedures daily.
• Attend/Lead interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate to relay clinical findings and make recommendations to other members of rehab team.
• Comply with documentation requirements of the rehab department and facility.
• Conduct staff/family training and education when appropriate by formal and informal in-services, as well as consultations.
