Job summary

HCA Florida Capital Hospital in Tallahassee is seeking an Occupational Therapist for PRN / Per Diem work to support patients across our acute care teams. You will evaluate needs, develop care plans, and deliver hands‑on therapy tailored to each patient’s goals.

Working with physicians and a multidisciplinary team, you’ll document progress, educate patients and families, and help patients regain independence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate each patient’s functional abilities and needs, then develop individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.
• Deliver skilled, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life through purposeful, compassionate care.
• Monitor patient progress, adjust plans as needed, and ensure thorough, timely documentation reflecting quality outcomes.
• Educate patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery and beyond.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences.
• Lead by example—provide guidance to therapy assistants or students and uphold HCA Healthcare’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence.
