Job summary

The role requires knowledge of physiology, Scintigraphic equipment, and good communication. Associates or Bachelors in related fields are preferred; ARM systems usage and radiation safety are integral to daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of human physiology.
• Experience with Scintigraphic equipment preferred.
• Ability to learn image quality and radiation safety tasks.
• Must communicate effectively with diverse staff.
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensures equipment meets quality control requirements and performs patient examinations utilizing age-specific care techniques, evaluating image quality for good technical and diagnostic detail.
• Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care.
• Performs Nuclear Medicine procedures demonstrating proficiency with camera acquisition and computer processing, adapting to new technology, and helping develop coworker knowledge.
• Maintains room readiness by keeping the room neat, supplies stocked, and equipment prepared for the next patient; initiates and documents work orders for malfunctioning equipment.
• Plans and manages time to accurately perform and enter all QC data and exam charges into the Nuclear Medicine Information System and OC System.
• Confirms proper examination/patient assignment on images before releasing images; notifies when transmitting after hours exams.
• Identifies patients using approved guidelines to confirm accuracy before continuing exams.
• Reviews physician requests for clinically valid exam indicators.
• Prepares radionuclide, explains procedures, and aseptically administers radionuclides.
• Other duties as assigned.
