Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to work at Texas Health Dallas. The role involves patient assessment, implementing respiratory care protocols, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The position requires RCP and RRT licensure, BCLS in place and maintained, ACLS within 90 days (NICU may require NRP). Prior Med/Surg or critical care experience is preferred; strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program required.
• CLIAFE compliance for foreign education equivalency required.
• 1 year Med/Surg or critical care experience preferred.
• RCP and RRT licenses required upon hire.
• BCLS certification prior to independent patient care, maintained quarterly.
• ACLS required in ICU/ED within 90 days; NICU requires NRP within 90 days if applicable.
• Good verbal communications, interpersonal skills, and computer experience.

Responsibilities

• Review available medical records and obtain pertinent medical history from patient or family.
• Evaluate each patient using age- and diagnosis-appropriate assessment tests and measurements.
• Apply appropriate patient care interventions according to protocol and priority of care.
• Demonstrate competence in age-appropriate patient assessment and individualized care.
• Use therapeutic techniques appropriate to patient’s age and treatment desires.
• Perform treatment procedures within the scope of licensure.
